TEN! – Become a Friend of The Bureau

‘As The Bureau enters its 10th anniversary year, we are inviting people from our community to help support our future as we enter our second decade. Your support would make a real difference .

We are inviting you to become a ‘Friend of The Bureau’, and pledge £10 each month to support us (Don’t be put off if you are unable to pledge £10 a month,  you could pledge a different amount, or give a one off donation instead as every bit really helps!).

The Bureau Centre for the Arts CIC (not for profit) was set up in March 2015, as an independent grassroots community Arts Centre in the heart of Blackburn. For 10 years we have provided a space for arts activities, music, cultural events and community participation. We have a running program of regular activities, plus exciting one off events that create a full programme of accessible arts experiences and opportunities for all to enjoy. There are opportunities for people to volunteer and work, and to exhibit, perform and create their own work.

The Bureau is a space where all ages and backgrounds can meet  and   engage with the arts,  and   access creative, inspiring  and   innovative artistic program across a range of art forms. We are passionate about this being accessible to all, and enable people facing multiple deprivations by providing free, low-cost  and subsidized opportunities. We are passionate about changing improving the world we live in, challenging norms and making a difference to peoples’ lives. We feel that this can be done through connection and by building stronger communities from the roots up.

The Bureau isn’t just an arts centre it is a community arts centre, a place of nurture and growth.

How will your support help?It has been a particularly challenging 6 years for us here at The Bureau, but despite having a fire, 3 buildings, covid, no core funding and spiraling costs we are still hanging on in there with sheer determination!

Your support will help alleviate some of the financial burdens we have actually keeping the building open and accessible to everyone…overheads, bursary schemes etc. Regular donations would allow us to plan ahead and help us know that your support is there. It also helps with match funding, something we need when we write funding applications.

We aren’t offering discounts on tickets, we already offer the opportunity to select subsidized tickets, instead we are offering a chance for you to help us make a difference to peoples’ lives, to our world…even a little splash has a ripple affect.

You will however be invited to our special annual celebratory social events, including our 10 Year Anniversary Event in April 2025.
