David Read was a Blackburn Artist who studied art at Blackburn College before going on to develop his work with acrylic. He volunteered at Brockholes Nature Reserve, Pleasington Nature Reserve and East Lancashire Hospice.

The collection features acrylic-on-canvas paintings painted by David Anthony Read. Themes represented in the exhibition include portraiture, nature, religions, mythology and ancient wisdom.

Prior to his passing, David had expressed a wish that his work be exhibited in Blackburn in 2024. The family has made the artworks available to view so that the art can be seen by David’s friends and the wider community.
