Shared Sounds, our Early Years community programme at the Bureau started in 2020 with music sessions for under 5s and their families.

These sessions were provided with funding from The National Foundation for Youth Music who have continued to support us for the last 4 years, enabling us to extend our programme to include a range of music, arts, crafting & making activities, and opportunities for immersive play and exploration.

Weekly sessions take place at the Bureau, in our outreach delivery in Children’s Centres, activities with partner organisations and with Early Years festival events.

From January 2025 ongoing support from Youth Music will enable us to
continue our established Thursday ‘Shared Sounds: Story Worlds, Music and
Creative Play’ These new sessions introduce music and art elements which support children’s development and lay the foundations for early creativity.
Skilled practitioners will lead the sessions with songs, games and activities including the use of percussion instruments, sensory elements all allowing room for free creative play and musical exploration!
