Social Prescribing looks beyond purely medical solutions, to develop interventions that can support resilience and recovery.

Our one-year Thriving Communities funding finished at the end of June 2022, but we are keen to find ways of continuing the groups and sessions that people have found really useful. It’s been an amazing, life-enhancing, creative year which has build a new community within The Bureau and we know that Thrive and its principles are at the heart of our work.
Thrive enabled us to work closely with partners in the borough to provide a programme of activities which help people to build confidence and connections, express themselves, learn new skills and improve their general health and well-being.

Current Thrive Workshops at The Bureau
Thursday 1.00pm – 3.00pm – Inspired By Art
Friday 10.00am – 11.30am – Public Living Room – a social session with jigsaws and a self-led art and craft group- Just drop in
If you are interested in taking part in any of these sessions, please either complete the self-referral form here and we will get back to you, pop in to Public Living Rooms on Friday morning or email us at kerris@bureaublackburn.co.uk or call 01254 664215

We are working the local Social Prescribing Alliance, Social Prescribing Link Workers and Community Connectors to develop The Bureau as a hub for Social Prescribing activity.
