A Network of Hospitality
Places of Welcome is a growing network of local community groups providing their neighbourhoods with places where all people feel safe to belong, connect and contribute.
A Place of Welcome is somewhere where everyone can go for a friendly face, a cup of tea and a conversation if and when they need it.
Place of Welcome at The Bureau has come from the conversations during Real People Honest Talk sessions, where we talked about how hard it can be to meet people if you are new to Blackburn or if you don’t belong to a club, have children or belong to a religious organisation. We wanted to do something to help make a difference.
We will open up the cafe at The Bureau every Wednesday morning from 10.00am-11.30am. Staffed by Bureau Volunteers there will be free brews and toast and everyone is welcome. Please spread the word.
Other Places of Welcome are opening up in Blackburn with the ambition that there is somewhere to go every day of the week.
