On Thursday 19th February we are excited to be holding a number of fantastic events all on one day.
GET CREATIVE – a nationwide initiative, in partnership with the BBC will be happening from 10.30 am, and is a day full of lots of Free creative activities- for all ages.
Music, drama, puppetry, dance, art, crafts , film, circus skills, storytelling, singing, parkour, graffiti wall , and more more more….. Lots of individual artists will be there to help you try new techniques, as well as Action Factory Community Arts, Love and Etiquette Foundation, Somewhereto_ and SLYNCS- all local arts organisations who will also be letting you know what other opportunities to engage in the Arts there are in the area.
There are also plenty of chances to let us know what you want from The Bureau – Centre for the Arts , and to help shape what we offer.
At around 5pm GET CREATIVE will move into Art SPACE- a regular monthly event where people get together to share creativity: through use of exhibition space, workshops, open mic performances, live music, food, socialising, collaboration, networking and FUN!
This month we have Open Mic slots available, but also have a showcase of local performers, singer-songwriters and bands performing until 10.30pm. In keeping with GET CREATIVE, this month’s event is FREE.
During the evening at 7.30pm we will be holding an ART AUCTION – all works in the auction have been donated by artists who want to support the set of The Bureau Centre for the Arts. Lots can be viewed online at www.bureauartauction2015.wordpress.com or in person on Wednesday 18th in the afternoon, and all day on Thursday 19th Feb.
